What is Erbium Resurfacing?
An erbium resurfacing laser is a skin treatment that removes thin layers of damaged or aged skin using precise laser energy. It works by gently vaporizing the outer layers of skin while heating the underlying tissue, which stimulates collagen production and promotes the growth of new, smoother skin. This treatment is commonly used to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin texture. Compared to some other resurfacing lasers, erbium lasers typically cause less heat damage, resulting in faster healing and a shorter recovery time.
What is the difference between Fractional vs Ablative?
Fractional and ablative resurfacing are both safe for all skin types. Fractional has minimal downtime of about two days with no peeling, making it ideal for those who require minimal downtime. Ablative is a more intense treatment requiring 5-7 days of downtime for healing, but achieves significant results in as little as one treatment. A consultation is required before booking either treatment.
What is the IPL Photofacial?
An IPL photofacial is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses intense pulsed light to improve skin tone and texture. It targets pigmentation, sun damage, redness, and broken capillaries by delivering light energy into the skin, which is absorbed by pigment and blood vessels and gradually broken down by the body. IPL also stimulates collagen production, helping to create smoother, clearer, and more even-looking skin over time. Multiple sessions are often recommended for best results, with little to no downtime.
